I’m Nik Miles and welcome to Dick Hannah Toyota. Today we’re going to take a look at this, the 2022 Rav4. This is the fourth best-selling vehicle in North America and there’s a reason for that. People love the Rav4 because this is reliable, has an amazing resale value, and is a great family member.

I’m going to show you the outside, the inside, and we’re going to put it on the road and see why this might be a great family member in your driveway.

So, all-wheel drive means that this vehicle is great for adventuring. It also means that you can actually navigate the poor weather when it gets icy, snowy, and the inclement conditions that we all suffer during the winter months. This is also great for those camping roads, and it does mean that it holds the road a little better when you accelerate. So that is a good plus as well. This, of course, got completely redesigned a couple of years ago and they all come with the same 2.5-liter engine and it’s a good drive. It’s a nice drive. It holds the road really well and steers really well and I like that about this vehicle. It always has been a really, really excellent drive. That’s the great thing about the Rav4. It’s nimble, it’s easy to park, and it also holds the road really well and has good acceleration. Plus, there’s plenty of room for anybody who’s looking to get a family of five around anywhere with it.

Now let’s talk about electronics. There is a seven-inch screen that comes standard on the inside of this. It does have the option of going to a larger eight-inch screen which is absolutely perfect for the entire family. I will tell you that you get all of the infotainment that you need including a great sound system as well. They have kept the hard buttons on the inside of this as well as the touch screen availability. But I like having the hard buttons on the side so you’re not going through mass amounts of menus to find the stuff that you’re looking for. SiriusXM satellite radio, as well as your maps, the whole works are in here when you have your navigation installed on the vehicle.

Now let’s talk about a safety system. Pedestrian Detection and full stop emergency brake that is standard on all Rav4s. They are not messing around at Toyota. Safety is a big deal for them and that is excellent. Then you can actually step up when you get into the higher trim levels with more safety systems if you choose to do so with this vehicle.

On the inside, nicely designed, even in the base trim levels you do get the stitching, soft-touch dash, nicely designed interior, plenty of visibility, and easy to navigate your way around the vehicle. It’s fine to reach all the buttons. I have fairly short arms only being five foot four and I can reach everything without having to move my seating position whatsoever. Nice steering wheel with Adaptive Cruise Control in here. It’s easy to get through your drive modes, and yes, this vehicle in the center console does have four drive modes. I can go through my ECO, Normal, and Sport even in the XLE mode. And then if I’m navigating through those inclement weathers I can use snow, I can use mud and sand, and rocks and dirt. That’s right, a base-level car going through rocks and dirt. It’s still extremely capable and Toyota wanted to make sure that whatever vehicle you buy you still have the capability to take this on camping roads and to have an adventure vehicle. Of course, Rav4 is their original adventure vehicle.

The great thing about this is that Rav4 has one of the best resale values in the industry. Go look at the analysts who predict the value of this vehicle for resale. It still remains one of the best in the class and you cannot floor the fact that Toyotas are absolutely reliable and they have an absolutely flawless resale value. And that is why people buy them in droves and they are so hard to find on lots except when you go to Dick Hannah. So that’s one of the things that I always recommend, Toyota. You want reliability. That’s the thing to do.

Now this is an XLE and it’s a great-looking vehicle, beautiful headlights. After it went through its redesign Toyota made it look like a Rav4 but at the same time gave it that fresh, aggressive, really-nice look to the front end of this vehicle. Black upper grille, lower air intakes at the bottom, big Toyota symbol here at the front, and very sleek, angular lines all the way around the vehicle. It doesn’t matter where you look, you still get a very modern, aggressive look anywhere around the vehicle.

Going around the vehicle to the side you get some darker colored moldings here around in the lower bumper area, and those moldings continue around the wheels. Now this being a fairly base-looking trim has the aluminum color steel wheels here at the side. Still a really nice design. Continuing down the side, black lower plastic here on the mirrors, and the same body color at the top of the mirrors as well. Embedded LED at the side of the mirrors for the signals as well.

Coming around the side of the vehicle, monochromatic same color door handles as the rest of the body. And it has your single-touch to open and close the vehicle here with your key. Lower balance of the body molding colors here at the bottom of the doors, and the bottom panels here so stones and mud and anything you do when you go to that campsite doesn’t damage the lower portion of the body. Moldings at the back here all the way around to that very lower quarter panel here at the back and that is part of the beginning of the bumper. Lights with this gloss plastic coming into the quarter panel here at the back and you can see this aero fin at the top of the C-pillar with a nice piece of molding plastic here and also that black roof rail which is a nice shiny gloss black at the top of the vehicle. Now some of the competition you cannot in  their base levels get all-wheel drive. Not true in Toyota, look, XLE all-wheel drive.

Alright, let’s take a look in the trunk. There is a lot of room in the back of the Rav4. In fact, put these seats down and you can get 10 carry-on suitcases in the back. That is actually 22 cubic feet of space. That, my friend, is a lot of room for a lot of stuff when you’re taking a road trip. Now even in this XLE there is nice, comfortable rear seats, seats three passengers at the back here, there are two 2.1 amp USB chargers and also you will find almost 38 inches of legroom. I’m not a good tester for leg room only being 5’4 inches, but I almost have to walk to hit that front seat.

Now, if you’re already in love with the 2022 Rav4 and you’d like to put one in your driveway you can come down to Dick Hannah Toyota or you can contact them via the website and better still you can give them a phone call. They would love to let you test drive one today.
